About the Opportunity:
The Galley Kitchen Supervisor, working closely with the sous chef, plays a key role in overseeing back-of-the-house operations during cruises to maintain high levels of quality, service, and guest satisfaction while ensuring profitability.
About You:
We are looking for someone who is flexible, dynamic, and embodies City Cruises' RESPECT Service System.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Act as the on-duty galley kitchen manager for cruises and lead the kitchen staff
- Maintain open communication with back-of-the-house and restaurant management
- Ensure staff compliance with health department sanitation codes
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance service quality
- Participate in staff training and scheduling
- Assist in developing positive relationships and teamwork among staff
- Resolve guest service issues with diplomacy
- Implement effective safety programs
- Contribute to fleet-wide initiatives
- Perform additional assigned duties
Requirements & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years of kitchen experience in a high-volume environment
- 1 year of kitchen staff management experience preferred
- Culinary training or equivalent experience
- ServSafe Certified
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Strong communication skills
- Service-oriented mindset
- Physically fit for strenuous work
- Ability to work holidays
- Must meet minimum state age requirements
- Proficient in English
