Summary:

Under the leadership of the Plant Manager, this role supervises the safe and efficient use of all maintenance staff and resources necessary to support the entire manufacturing process.

Key factors for success include a focus on safety, electro-mechanical expertise, maintaining clean work areas, adherence to GMP standards, problem-solving skills, and promoting positive employee relations.



Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Job Hazard Analysis and ensure safety compliance.
  • Manage spare parts procurement using the PO system.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, pipefitting, and rigging tasks.
  • Train personnel on safety procedures and operational techniques.
  • Implement maintenance plans according to the schedule.
  • Prioritize shift assignments and allocate resources effectively based on employee skills and experience.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations to safeguard personnel.
  • Provide employees with proper resources for safe work performance and essential training.
  • Identify and resolve environmental, safety, and GMP hazards to mitigate risks.
  • Address employee issues and maintain transparent communication within the department.
  • Enhance employees' skill levels and assess maintenance performance for efficiency improvements.
  • Offer positive reinforcement for good performance and safety practices.
  • Enforce discipline within the team and document any misconduct.
  • Develop maintenance staff in specific areas through proactive training.
  • Directly manage employees for effective recruitment, training, discipline, and performance evaluation.
  • Utilize strong problem-solving skills for root cause analysis.
  • Apply mechanical and electrical knowledge to upkeep production systems, facilities, and grounds.
  • Collaborate with facility management to boost employee safety, production quality, and equipment reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and standards in daily maintenance tasks.
  • Supervise preventive maintenance plans, inspections, and repairs to reduce downtime.
  • Prepare and submit accurate reports to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Work from technical documents for emergency or scheduled repairs and procure necessary materials.
  • Maintain records and propose cost-saving initiatives.
  • Perform any assigned duties as required.
  • Available for flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays as necessary to support operations.


Qualifications:

Education:
High School diploma required; Bachelors Degree in operations or engineering preferred, or equivalent experience.
Related Experience:

5-7 years of technical maintenance experience, particularly in food packaging, processing, and safety. Previous leadership experience is a plus.
Equipment/Software Skills:
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access), AS400.
