Responsibilities

  • Performing experiments and managing an independent research project; techniques may include:
  • tissue dissection, protein isolation and cellular sub-fractionation.
- phospho-protein enrichment, affinity purification for mass spectrometry.

  • 1D/2D PAGE and Western blotting.
- preparation of samples for liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry.
- analysis of proteomic datasets (pathway enrichment, gene ontogeny enrichment analysis, use of online tools.
- two-photon and confocal microscopy.
- optogenetics/chemogenetics.
- in vitro and in vivo transfections (viral vectors).
- mRNA/protein isolation, basic cloning techniques.

  • RT-PCR (quantitative and single cell).
  • Commit to actively fostering a welcoming culture of inclusion and diversity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A Ph.
D. in biochemistry, neuroscience or a related life sciences field, and 0-3 years of postdoctoral experience. Experience in protein biochemistry, LC-MS, MALDI and software tools for proteomics dataset analysis is highly desirable. Experience in the neurobiology of pain is advantageous but not required.
