Patient Access Technician

Welcome to our team at 401 Gresham Drive You're about to take on the role of a Patient Access Technician in a professional/technical setting during daytime hours.

  • GENERAL SUMMARY
  • Working under the guidance of the Patient Access Manager, you will provide clerical and secretarial assistance to the patient care team. Acting as a link between patients and medical support services, your tasks will include accurate data collection, documentation, and retrieval through computerized systems.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • - Greet, instruct, direct, and assist patients and visitors upon arrival.
  • - Support the revenue cycle process by handling tasks like patient registration, insurance verification, co-payment collection, etc.
  • - Collaborate with different departments for patient access-related information.
  • - Conduct pre-registration and insurance verification for services.
  • - Provide coverage at various registration locations as needed.
  • - Perform other assigned duties.
  • LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
  • There are no specific licenses or certifications required for this position.
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent is a must.
  • * - While 3 years of related work experience is preferred, a minimum of six months in customer service, ideally within a healthcare setting, is required.
  • - Familiarity with third party payers, ICD-9/CPT coding, and medical terminology is advantageous.
  • - Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication in both verbal and written forms.
  • - Proficient computer keyboarding skills are necessary.
  • - Willingness to travel to various work locations.
  • - Certain job roles may require increased security clearance including FBI fingerprinting and background checks.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS
  • - Expect a typical office environment with limited exposure to noise and dust. You may come across some adverse conditions due to patient care activities.
