We are looking for a highly driven individual to join our team as a Mechanical Engineer in our Engineering Department at USEMCO. As a Mechanical Engineer at our company, you will play a crucial role in providing structural design services and support for hydraulic and thermo products.

Our expertise extends to electrical control systems ranging from simple motor applications to motor control centers. Position: Mechanical Engineer

Work Schedule: 1st Shift, Full-Time - Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Starting Salary: Competitive starting pay of $60,000/year (Based on Experience)

Work Environment: This is not a remote position

Job Responsibilities:

  • Produce comprehensive structural design documentation for review by consulting engineers.
  • Develop a deep understanding of a wide range of company products including stations, tanks, hatches, dump boxes, and various fabricated items.
  • Stay updated with building regulations from authorities such as State of Wisconsin, Underwriter's Laboratory, and ETL, pertaining to modular constructions.
  • Be knowledgeable about elevator regulations.
  • Engage with customers, sales representatives, contractors, and vendors to address product design queries during all stages of the development process. Collaborate with the manufacturing team, offering guidance and technical expertise during product assembly.
  • Create submittal materials for client review and approval.
  • Generate product design drawings and Bills of Materials to direct manufacturing operations. Proficiency in using ERP software is essential for establishing Bills of Materials.
  • Utilize AutoCAD for drafting and designing tasks. Familiarity with the company's drawing storage system is crucial for organizing and storing drawings.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, applicants must be capable of fulfilling each essential duty satisfactorily. The following requirements outline the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Ability to interpret various business publications, technical documents, and regulations.
  • Compose reports, business correspondences, and manuals.
  • Effectively communicate information and address inquiries related to product design issues from employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Apply engineering principles in structural, mechanical, and hydraulic domains to solve design-related challenges.
  • Resolve practical problems and navigate diverse variables in situations with limited standards.
  • Interpret instructions and data in written and verbal formats.

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field from a 4-year college or university, along with 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in engineering and product design techniques is required.

Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Read and analyze general business articles, technical procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Compose reports, business letters, and manuals.
  • Present information effectively and respond to queries regarding product design from various stakeholders.
  • Apply engineering concepts across structural, mechanical, and hydraulic aspects in product design.
  • Address practical issues and handle a range of variables in situations where standardization is limited.
  • Interpret instructions and data presented in written and oral formats.
