DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a PFS Cash Posting Specialist to join our team under the supervision of the Patient Financial Services Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate collection and posting of patient payments, cash, and credit deposits into our EHR system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily balancing of cash drawer and conducting cash reconciliation.
  • Research and resolve any discrepancies in insurance payments.
  • Handle daily bank deposits and input payment data into patient accounts.
  • Process electronic remittances and post miscellaneous cash receipts.
  • Assist in tracking outside vendors and ensuring correct posting of charges.
  • Complete credit balance reports and provide excellent customer service.
  • Post payments and adjustments accurately according to cash posting policies.
  • Review documentation for contractual amounts and payment adjustments.
  • Perform additional assigned duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, Associate degree preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in 10-key computing skills.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize effectively.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of medical billing/collection practices and basic coding.
  • Proficiency in computer programs and office procedures.
  • Ability to operate office equipment and multi-line telephone systems.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented, well-organized, and customer-focused.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus.

REPORTING:

  • Reports to the PFS Supervisor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Perform repetitive hand and wrist motions as needed.
