Our teams and solutions assist various government customers with mission-focused, high-tempo, and outcome-driven objectives. This director role requires a data science leader who can effectively communicate and collaborate across teams, as well as take a hands-on leadership approach. Our team of mission-driven technologists is collaborative, supportive, empathetic, curious, and impact-oriented. The position will involve partnering with the COO, CTO, Program Managers, Systems Engineering, Software Engineers, Deployment, Test, and IT teams to design, build, test, deploy, and maintain end-to-end mission capabilities for our customers.

Additionally, you will monitor each team member's progress on the programs they support, assist in estimating efforts and required skills, and manage a resource mapping of your staff, including risks, loss of coverage, and backups for illness and time off. Furthermore, you will translate product strategy into technical strategy by contributing to the development, piloting, and iteration of new product implementations for new and existing customers.

· You will also closely partner with cross-functional team members as a technical owner of crucial business goals. You will lead the conception, planning, execution, and release of multiple high-impact analytics projects simultaneously.

· You will be responsible for embracing and championing agile development practices and executing end-to-end model development in an agile environment across our entire stack. You will become well-versed in our testing, deployment, observability, and monitoring tools, make recommendations to improve or enhance their usage, and mentor other team members to drive a data-driven culture rooted in quality and delivery. Additionally, you will mentor teammates and promote simplicity in solving complex problems across our products and teams as we scale.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:

· 10+ years of industry experience in a data science leadership role, preferably building a high-impact product.

· Relevant programming experience in Python, R, MATLAB, Scala, SAS

· Experience in software development tools such as Kubernetes, Ansible, and Terraform.

· Experience in database concepts, including SQL and NoSQL databases like MySQL, Cassandra, and Hadoop.

· Experience utilizing agile version control tools like GitLab, Jira, and Confluence.

· Knowledgeable in using programming editors such as VSCode, PyCharm, Jupyter Notebook, and Zeppelin, as well as related development and data technologies.

· Experience in advanced mathematical statistics (probability theory and distributions, descriptive statistics, matrix algebra, multivariate statistics, polynomial analysis, parametric and non-parametric methods, etc.).

DESIRED SKILLS:

· TS+ security clearance and familiar with operating within secure DoD and IC environments.

· You have over 7+ years of academic experience teaching data science and/or statistics courses to graduates and undergrads.

· Experience digitizing and automating operational processes and workflows.

· You have the ability to sketch out and iterate on solid engineering architecture and designs.

· You are a proactive technical leader with experience owning roadmaps and directing your own work.

· You are comfortable working in a high-paced environment with several dynamic and concurrent projects.
