Job Overview: We are seeking dedicated and passionate Special Education Teachers to join our team for the full school year. With five openings across elementary, secondary, and middle school levels, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students with special needs. Join us in fostering a supportive and inclusive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students.
  • Adapt and modify curriculum and teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student success.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Provide a safe and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Use various teaching methods to promote student engagement and learning.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on student progress and performance.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on student goals and progress.

Position Details:

  • Full-time: 37.5 hours per week
  • Full school year: Tentative dates from 9/3/24 to 6/6/25
  • Caseloads: Elementary, Secondary, and Middle School levels available
  • Openings: 5 positions

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • State certification in Special Education.
  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
  • Experience with IEP development and implementation.

Michigan SPED Certifications:

  • Michigan Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Special Education.
  • Specific endorsements may include Learning Disabilities (LD), Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitive Impairment (CI), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and others as required.
  • Completion of all necessary continuing education requirements to maintain certification.
