Forest Health Seasonal Forestry Technician Description and Details

Duties:
Address public and private tree health assistance requests statewide. Assist with insect trapping for emerald ash borer. Apply Forest Health sampling methods to accompany assistance visits. Conduct tree health surveys in communities statewide. Collect and manage data to assist long-term FH monitoring. Coordinate with Forest Health manager and full-time staff to provide field services for ongoing Forest Health initiatives statewide.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, April 1, 2024 through September 1, 2024 (start and end date are negotiable)

Advertised Pay: Starting at $21.00/hour.

Preferred Experience and Skills:
Experience working with landowners on forestry or related conservation practices. Familiarity with the use of forestry tools, forest inventory and field sampling techniques. Familiarity with identifying trees and shrubs common to ND. Knowledge and experience with various field sampling methods. Highly self-motivated, dedicated, outgoing, confident, and ethical. Ability to work safely without direct supervision.
Required: Valid driver's license.
