Mission Pharmacal, a privately held pharmaceutical manufacturing company, is seeking a PACKAGING MATERIAL HANDLER to join our team at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Boerne, TX.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Moves and replenishes loose, boxed and palletized materials and product bins as required to set up and maintain adequate material supplies to the Packaging lines. Tends to machines that perform one or more packaging functions such as filling, coding, labeling, capping, sealing, packing, or wrapping containers and monitors the quality of packaged product by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Verifies and replenishes Packaging materials and components to the Packaging lines/workstations by control/part number/Lot Number and quantity per specifications prior to and during the running of the lot.
  2. Verifies Lot number and Product description of tablet bins and moves/stages/positions full product bins over slat counter. Moves and stages empty bins for removal.
  3. Starts machine and observes operation to detect malfunctions of machine prior to start of the lot. Stops machine and reports malfunction to Line Lead. Assists in repairs as required.
  4. Performs set-ups of workstation, follows standard operating procedures, while reassembling and cleaning hardware. Ensures each product is packaged according to specifications and standard operating procedures.
  5. Feeds product and packaging components to conveyors, or other feeding devices; palletizes finished product. Secures finished product for transportation to the distribution center.
  6. After completion of each lot, cleans the equipment and work area per standard operating procedures.
  7. Performs hand packaging and sorting as required. Counts rejects, finished product, and unused packaging components to be returned to warehouse.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three months related experience and/or training. Previous forklift experience preferred.

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; frequently required to walk; frequently able to climb/descend stairs; and occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must be capable of moving bins weighing up to 1,000 pounds with the use of a manual pallet jack. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Schedule: Monday-Wednesday: 5:00 am – 3:30 pm; Thursday: 5:00 am -3:00 pm
