Our client, a trailblazer in the data center domain, as they continue to expand, is seeking a dynamic MEP Construction Project Manager to join their team and play a key role in managing MEP construction activities across their projects.

The MEP Construction Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and control system construction phases of data center projects. This role requires a deep understanding of data center infrastructure, strong project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Focus:

  • Manage construction fit-up strategy across multiple projects to ensure white space readiness.
  • Oversee MEP construction, including chillers, BMS systems, generators, HVAC equipment, installation, implementation, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Manage the design team and workflow across multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project requirements.
  • Organize and maintain project-level records across all active projects, ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping.
  • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, architects, engineers, consultants, utility providers, and municipal authorities to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Support pre-construction and construction processes and schedules, including weekly construction meetings and budget management.
  • Support development planning and maintain approved budgets from project start through completion.
  • Manage handover of facilities to end clients after project completion.
  • Provide regular project summaries to the company's leadership and investor/partners.
  • Uphold the company's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Plan through education, monitoring, and reporting with vendors, partners, and clients.
  • Functionally lead development efforts across at least one project, reporting back to senior leadership.
  • Support VP of Construction with ongoing development project requirements, including budgeting, scheduling, vendor management, and risk assessment.
  • Conduct regular site visits, monitor construction activities, and enforce quality control procedures.
  • Assist sales team with the development and submission of build-to-suit, lease, and sales proposals to customers.

Skill Set:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Construction Management/Science, Architecture, Planning, or Engineering (electrical or mechanical), favored but not required.
  • 2+ years of data center experience, additionally 5+ years of construction experience, required.
  • Strong knowledge of project management systems and ability to recommend potential systems for integration into the company's platform.
  • Technical understanding of data center infrastructure, including MEP systems.
  • Experience managing complex construction budgets.
  • Experience working with local municipalities and electric utility providers.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, and Revit.
  • OSHA30 accreditation favored but not required.
