Job Title: Engineer - Accessibility Specialist

  • What you'll learn to do:

As an Engineer specializing in VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template) or WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) Assessability, you will play a vital role in ensuring digital products meet accessibility standards for users with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Accessibility Assessments and Audits:

Conduct thorough accessibility assessments of software applications, websites, and digital content to evaluate compliance with WCAG guidelines or VPAT requirements. Identify accessibility barriers and provide recommendations for remediation.

  • Accessibility Integration and Solutions:
Collaborate with development teams to integrate accessibility into projects. Implement solutions to meet accessibility standards.

  • Technical Guidance and Training:
Offer mentorship to teams on accessibility best practices and standards. Stay updated with evolving accessibility regulations and technologies.

  • Collaboration and Communication:
Engage with various stakeholders to advocate for accessibility. Ensure accessibility in the testing process.

  • Accessibility Standards and Compliance:
Stay informed on accessibility laws and standards. Contribute to the development of accessibility policies.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field. Proficiency in WCAG guidelines, experience with accessibility audits, and problem-solving skills.
Certifications in accessibility are a plus.
