POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Adult Education plays a vital role in leading and managing the adult education programs at our college.

This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing initiatives that promote and support the educational needs of adult learners.

The Director of Adult Education will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality programs and services that meet the unique needs of adult students.

This position provides leadership and vision to expand the college's offerings for lifelong learners in the community.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement a strategic vision for adult education programs, ensuring alignment with the college's mission and goals
Design and deliver a comprehensive range of courses, certificates, and programs for professional and personal enrichment
Conduct needs assessments and market research to develop programs aligned with workforce trends and community interests
Actively promote programs through traditional and digital marketing channels
Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies to attract and enroll adult learners
Recruit, train, and supervise adult education instructors to ensure high-quality instruction
Manage the adult education budget
Oversee registration, billing, and customer service functions for adult learners
Serve as liaison to external organizations, schools, and employers regarding continuing education partnerships and offerings
Compile reports on enrollment, revenue, and program outcomes for administration
Stay abreast of best practices and trends in continuing education through professional development
Perform other duties as assigned by the Provost

MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Master's or MBA, or related discipline
A minimum of (5-7) years of academic leadership at the college level
3+ years of experience in adult education, program development, and student services
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to effectively manage details
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed
In-depth knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and curriculum development
Demonstrated experience in program development, strategic planning, and implementation
Strong understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by adult learners
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
Proven ability to build and maintain partnerships with community organizations and employers
Experience with budget management, resource allocation, and grant writing
Familiarity with relevant technologies and learning management systems
Ability to lead and inspire a team to achieve program goals
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards related to adult education programs
Prepare reports and documentation required for program accreditation and institutional effectiveness assessments
Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment

WORKING
CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL

DEMANDS
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment, which requires business professional attire.

While performing the above job duties, the employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time.

The employee, frequently, is required to walk, stand, reach and lift (25) pounds.

The employee is required to travel within the area, as well as overnight travel on occasion, which may require air travel.
