Job Description

Seeking Live-In Caregivers to work either a 4-day work week (Monday to Friday) or a 3-day work week (Friday to Monday).

As a Non-Medical Home Healthcare Live-In, your main role will be to offer daily living support and companionship to the elderly or individuals with disabilities in the comfort of their homes. Your presence will be crucial in preserving their independence and quality of life while ensuring their safety and well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Personal Care: Help with daily tasks like bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
  • Meal Preparation: Cook nutritious meals based on dietary requirements and preferences, including shopping for groceries.
  • Medication Management: Ensure clients take their medications as prescribed and watch for any adverse reactions.
  • Housekeeping: Perform light cleaning, laundry, and organization to maintain a tidy and safe living space.
  • Companionship: Offer emotional support and companionship through conversations, games, reading, and accompanying clients on walks or outings.
  • Transportation: Assist with travel to appointments, errands, or social activities.
  • Health Monitoring: Keep track of the client's health and report any changes to the healthcare team or family.
  • Reporting: Regularly monitor and report client behavior and health status to the management team using provided tools.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in caregiving is preferred.
  • Ability to live at the client's home and work extended hours.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; compassionate, patient, and caring.
  • Excellent communication skills, handling sensitive information with discretion.
  • Physical stamina to lift or move clients when necessary.

Working Conditions:

This is a live-in position, requiring you to reside at the client's home for extended periods. You should be comfortable with this setup and flexible with your schedule, including weekend shifts. While you will have varying off-duty hours, you may need to address emergencies or unforeseen situations outside regular work hours.

Please note that this role does not involve medical tasks or procedures. However, a basic understanding of healthcare practices and terminology is beneficial, as you will closely collaborate with healthcare professionals.
