Purpose
•\tThe Chief Academic Officer (CAO) for Intermountain Medical Center (IMED) will oversee key academic processes at IMED. This physician will work closely with IMED's Department Chairs to ensure appropriate support and faculty development of all physicians with academic appointments. In addition, he/she will collaborate and communicate effectively with Intermountain Health's Enterprise VP of Research, Enterprise AVP of Medical Education, Enterprise AVP of Research and Academics, and service-line specific Medical Directors.
•\tIMED's CAO will collaborate with IMED's Department Chairs for faculty development and integrated support of educational and research objectives and will report to IMED's Chief Medical Officer.
Purpose

Job Essentials
Key Leadership Responsibilities (0.5 FTE)
Faculty development
Facilitation of regular check-ins with academic faculty.Participation in annual reviews with academic faculty for the purposes of retention and promotion.Design, implementation, and oversight of academic onboarding and mentorship programs within IMED.Primary and collaborative mentorship of early- and mid-career investigatorsOversight of academic integrity within IMED
GME leadership
Coordination with Designated Institutional Officer (DIO) to ensure compliance and alignment with programmatic and institutional goals.Assurance of appropriate staffing and funding of GME leadership positions.Strategic collaborations with GME leaders to expand and support education programs.
Research leadership
Coordination with appropriate system and/or hospital leadership to ensure compliance and alignment with programmatic and institutional goals for research.Assurance of appropriate support within IMED for appropriate research programs.Coordination with program-specific research medical directors to optimize success of IMED faculty research programs.
Clinical and Academic Responsibilities (0.5 FTE)
Patient care (approximately 0.2 FTE)
Provision of outpatient or inpatient clinical work at IMED.
Academic work (approximately 0.3 FTE)
Active participation in research and/or medical education.
In addition to the responsibilities listed above, IMED's CAO is expected to uphold Intermountain's mission, vision, and values by fostering an environment that reflects the mission, engaging academic physicians in efforts that support the mission, and promoting excellence in the fundamentals of extraordinary care. The CAO, in combination with his/her dyad/triad partner(s), will also provide strategic direction, leadership, and support for all relevant academic initiatives.

$7.25 - $999.99
