Salary Range:
$39.00 To $50.00 HourlyPOSITION SUMMARYCreate, modify and document programs to control path machining or processing of parts for multi-axis computer numerical control ("CNC") machines utilizing Mastercam or other software.

CNC machines programs intended for lathes, multi-axis spindles and milling machines to cut away material from a solid block of metal.

As a Sr.

CNC Programmer you:
willWrite or modify advanced close tolerance programs for CNC machines in the language of the machine's controller.

Analyze drawings, sketches, blueprints and/or schematics of part to determine dimension and configuration of cuts, machine speeds and feed rates, according to knowledge of machining processes, part specifications and machine capabilities.

Determine the sequence of machine operations and select the proper cutting tools needed to machine workpieces into desired shapes.
Determine and document reference points and direction of machine cutting paths.
Writes program of machine instructions to regulate movement of machine along cutting path.
Writes instruction sheets and cutter lists to guide setup and operation of machine.
Revise programs to eliminate errors or omissions and retest programs to check that problems have been resolved.
May operate machine to test program effectiveness.
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure program effectiveness.
Observe machine operation to prove programmed instructions are accurate and/or troubleshoot in-process machining issues that may arise.

Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, comply with company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and accepts constructive feedback.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or General Education Development (GED).Minimum 10 years Mastercam programming experience or equivalent of education and experience.
Minimum 5 years CNC machining experience preferred.
Experience with Mastercam programming software preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of alloys and metals such as Inconel, titanium, stainless steel.
Knowledge of Fanuc, and Mitsubishi controllers.
Knowledge of computer aided design (CAD) software.
Knowledge of computer and computer systems to program.
Knowledge of and experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT)Ability to understand and follow standard operating and safety procedures.
Ability to prioritize and handle workflow.
Ability to pay attention to detail and thorough in completing tasks.
Read and comprehend verbal and written instructions.
