Responsibilities


The Senior Vice President, Operations (SVPO), is responsible for overseeing the operations, finance and management of multiple designated markets across the Emerus organization.

SVPO is also responsible for growth in volume and EBITDA
The role will be based out of Houston or Dallas and requires 50% travel to the assigned markets

Supports the preparation of short-term and long-range plans and budgets based on corporate goals and growth objectives
Reviews analysis of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine market progress toward stated goals and objectives
Oversees assigned regional market executives and manages market activities that implement the organization's policies
Directs operations to achieve budgeted profit results and other financial benchmarking standards
Directs the development and installation of procedures and controls, to promote communication and adequate information flow

Ensures that all activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.

Leads and assists in ensuring the organization meets and maintains DNV, state license and other accreditation requirements
Interacts with Medical staff regularly
Responsible for providing strong P&L oversight and leadership & driving operational excellence within each designated market
Provides infrastructure and sound process for strategic planning for each market/facility
Partners with each Market CEO to ensure local market priorities are met while balancing those priorities against the goals of the broader organization
Responsible for ensuring each Market CEO/Hospital Administrator has prepared an annual business plan and is executing against it
Monitors activities around growing volume from EMS, urgent care, physician practices, etc
New service line development and implementation
Develops growth strategy with development team to identify new facility opportunities or acquisition targets
Leadership Development
Identifies new talent, trains and ensures succession plans are in place for Hospital Administrators, Market CEOs and the SVPO role itself
Serves as a coach and mentor to develop business acumen and P&L abilities amongst key market staff
Fosters a culture of accountability, patient experience and quality
Attends partnership and subsidiary board meetings quarterly
Acts as Board member for Joint Ventures as designated
Communicates with health system partners frequently ensuring strong relationships are in place
Actively encourages commitment to a common vision and shared values
Ability to thrive in a lean environment
Creates opportunities and gives people latitude to develop and achieve
Promotes a free flow of information and communication throughout the organization (upward, downward, and across)

Position Overview


The Senior Vice President, Operations (SVPO), is responsible for overseeing the operations, finance and management of multiple designated markets across the Emerus organization.

SVPO is also responsible for growth in volume and EBITDA.

SVPO will work closely with business development team to identify and execute on opportunities to expand presence in the market and will be responsible for ensuring high clinical and quality outcomes, strong patient experience scores and a low rate of Employee Turnover at all facilities.
