Job Description

The Principal Firmware/Hardware Engineer at Kardiogenics will play a critical and exclusive role in the full lifecycle of our hardware products.

This is a unique opportunity for a highly skilled and dedicated engineer to lead, design, develop, and oversee all aspects of firmware and hardware components for our medical devices.



Key Responsibilities:

Complete Ownership of Hardware Development:
Design, develop, test, and optimize firmware and hardware components, being solely responsible for all hardware-related activities within the company.

Strategic Leadership:
Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to align hardware development with organizational goals and product strategy.

Compliance & Certification:

Ensure all firmware and hardware designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including FDA, Military and lead the process for relevant certifications.



Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
Drive innovation through research and application of cutting-edge technologies to enhance product performance and reliability.

Vendor Management:
Manage relationships with suppliers and external partners, ensuring quality and timely delivery of components.

Mentorship & Collaboration:
Provide guidance and technical leadership to other team members, fostering collaboration across departments.

Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of designs, specifications, validation procedures, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; Masters degree preferred.

Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in firmware and hardware engineering, preferably in the medical device industry. Experience with Military standards is plus.

Technical Skills:
Expertise in embedded C/C++ programming.

Mastery of hardware design and simulation tools.

In-depth understanding of medical device regulations.

Leadership & Ownership:
Proven ability to lead complex projects independently, taking full ownership of all hardware development aspects.

Communication:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Problem-Solving:
Outstanding analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
