Arlington, Virginia, United States DRT Strategies Full time
Solutions Architect

Overview

DRT Strategies delivers expert management consulting and information technology (IT) solutions to large federal agencies, the U.S. Navy, state and local government and commercial clients in health care, technology, and financial services industries.

The three letters of our name, DRT, stand for Driving Resolution Together, which is the core philosophy on which the company was founded.

That is, we collaborate with our clients to solve their most pressing challenges - together.

We are problem solvers dedicated to your success, combining Fortune 500 experience with small business responsiveness.

We have established a reputation with our clients as a forward-thinking consulting firm with demonstrated success in implementing solutions that lead to meaningful results.

Our world-class consultants unite people to work collaboratively to achieve project goals and make your vision a reality.

What are we looking for?

DRT is seeking an Experienced Technical Proposal Solutions Architect to support our growth opportunities, business development, technical solutioning, and proposal writing.

As our Technical Proposal Solutions Architect, you will support technical solutioning, support opportunity capture, and proposal writing.

DRT responds to a range of federal government Requests for Proposals (RFPs) that require a range of knowledge in technologies and methodologies.

You will support the capture process by conducting thought leadership meetings with prospective customers (including creation of relevant slides/materials). You will then lead the technical solutioning related to an opportunity's Statement of Work (SOW). You are expected to have a solid foundation in computer science/technical projects with the ability to learn new methodologies/technologies.

You are expected to extract knowledge from other subject matter experts, continually learn new concepts through self-paced training, and stitch it together in a solution.

You will report to the Vice President, Technology and collaborate to balance the workload of these primary responsibilities. This position will allow you a hybrid work schedule in the DMV area.

Fun stuff you will do on the job:

Design and implement technical solutions to support business development initiatives in the government industry.

Gather information required to develop technically compliant responses through independent research and by conducting working sessions with technical and management SMEs, program leaders, and proposed key personnel.

Work closely with the business development team to understand client requirements and design solutions that meet their needs.

Develop detailed technical proposals for government clients, including cost estimates and implementation plans.

Translate complex information gathered into clear, concise, and persuasive content.

Participate in color team reviews by providing valuable feedback to peer contributors and by implementing peer feedback for assigned sections.

Participate in capture and proposal strategy reviews and solution sessions.

Assist the capture manager with solution development and other capture support activities prior to solicitation release, as needed.

Sketch graphics to convey technical ideas.

Recommend technical positions/staff needed for delivery.

Stay up-to-date on industry trends and emerging technologies, and provide guidance on how they can be leveraged to support business development initiatives.

Participate in project reviews of current delivery projects to stay aware of DRT's capabilities, value propositions, and past performances.

Author job descriptions in support of proposal efforts and participate in conducting interviews, as appropriate to find contingent hires.

This is you:

Bachelor's degree in IT related field or equivalent experience with 8+ years of federal government experience.

6+ years of technical writing and/or proposal writing experience.

Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships and communicate at the senior and executive management levels.

Demonstrated experience in translating complex and innovative solutions into well written narratives.

Strong understanding of software development and systems architecture.

Strong experience in low-code platforms, such as Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint Online, ServiceNow, or Salesforce.

Experience with cloud architecture and cloud migration techniques.

Experience with custom application development projects.

Strong personal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel, including project team members, management, and SMEs.

Ability to absorb, capture, and translate varied information of a technical nature.

You will wow us even more if you have these skills:

3+ years of experience writing complex, highly technical proposals for government-issued solicitations is strongly preferred.

DRT's culture is reflective of our core values:

Professionalism:

Be a leader and someone your customers and colleagues can count on by taking ownership and accountability for your work.

Demonstrate a solution-oriented mindset and bias for action. Show empathy, dignity, and respect for each other.

Be "high minded", maintain a calm demeanor when dealing with ambiguity or adversity and stay out of the fray (i.e., avoid drama).

Quality:
Do things right and do the right thing.

Pursue excellence in your work by delivering quality services and products that provide high value and return on investment (ROI).

Teamwork:
Work with each other, the customer, and DRT. Demonstrate flexibility, a positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively to help others and share information.

Customer Mission Focused:

Commit to customer success and strive to exceed expectations by understanding the mission, executing the customer's vision, and solving challenges to drive results and achieve mission goals.

Build meaningful customer relationships by asking thoughtful questions, listening, and operating transparently.

Growth Mindedness:
Commit to company, team, and personal growth. Embrace an entrepreneurial spirit by actively seeking opportunities to support new customer projects and/or solve problems.

Actively work to improve your skills, learn to be comfortable with ambiguity, and be resourceful and willing to figure things out and add value.

Our culture fosters teamwork and transparency, empowering you to do great work. Our talented employees drive the success of the company – so our leadership is devoted to your success.

We respect you as an individual.

We recognize your contributions.

We invest in your professional growth.

Join us and let's continue to build your career together.

Currently due to the remote working status of the federal government, most DRT employees are teleworking from home and leveraging video conferencing along with other virtual productivity tools.

Under normal circumstances, most of our positions are required to report onsite. However, DRT has not yet determined when employees will be required to return to their onsite workspaces.

Please be aware that at the time a date is determined to return to the worksite, the requirement of this position may be to report in person to the work location.
