The Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating assigned packaging machines and statistical scales to pack the optimal amount of top-quality product packages. This role is a vital part of PepsiCo's success story, with Frito-Lay producing top-notch snacks for over 80 years. As a member of our Full-Time team, you'll be putting in 40 to 50 hours per week and might need to work overtime, but the pay and benefits are top-notch, including health insurance, retirement savings, and more.


Working as a Packaging Machine Operator at Frito-Lay, you'll be on your feet for your entire shift, surrounded by loud machinery in a large manufacturing facility. Attention to detail is key here. Here are some tasks you would handle after the 8 to 16 weeks training period:

  • Setting up and running packaging machines to ensure accurate coding, weights, and proper bagging.
  • Checking dates and seals, minimizing product waste.
  • Keeping packed products clean and maintaining a safe workspace.
  • Performing basic maintenance tasks on machines and using protective gear when needed.
  • Inspecting and troubleshooting machinery before operations.


As a Packaging Machine Operator, you'll deal with various allergens like dairy, wheat, soy, garlic, salt, and oils, including working with spicy snacks like Flamin' Hot Cheetos. To excel in this role, ensure you meet these requirements:

  • Age 18 or older, available for weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
  • Mechanically inclined and experienced in high-speed manufacturing.
  • Physically capable of lifting, basic math skills, and proficient in English.
  • Comfortable with extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
  • Willing to work at heights using ladders or lifts if needed.
