Department Overview

The Cybersecurity team plays a crucial role in PG&E's mission by ensuring operational resiliency and asset safeguards through timely, data-driven governance and oversight. This team, composed of security professionals, collaborates to analyze the current cyber threat landscape and provide expert guidance to enhance the company's security posture. By focusing on proactive security measures tailored to specific Lines of Business (LOB), Cybersecurity assists in guiding resource allocation decisions to mitigate top cyber risks.

Position Summary

The role involves delivering essential cybersecurity services to maintain the safety and reliability of PG&E's Information Technology & Operational Technology systems. As a leader in various key functional areas, responsibilities include technology risk management, policy compliance, business continuity, threat assessment, security infrastructure operations, and more. The position requires driving the development and execution of strategic cybersecurity plans aligned with the company's overarching vision and goals.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert, leveraging in-depth knowledge in the field.
  • Manage departmental budget effectively.
  • Collaborate with team members and leaders on projects and issues.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Establish and monitor metrics to enhance departmental performance.
  • Develop work plans to support departmental goals and drive accountability.
  • Set and achieve departmental objectives aligned with broader company goals.
  • Coordinate project gate reviews for client and IT security projects.
  • Implement programs and oversee vendor tasks and deliverables.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience in IT security or related fields.
  • 6 years of combined experience in IT, critical infrastructure, intelligence, and/or cyber security.
  • Leadership experience of at least 3 years.
  • CISSP certification.

Desired:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Experience in the utility industry.
  • Additional leadership experience.
  • CIP certification.
  • CISM certification.
  • CRISC certification.
