Kairos Power is a new nuclear energy technology and engineering company whose mission is to enable the world's transition to clean energy, with the ultimate goal to dramatically improve people's quality of life while protecting the environment.

This goal will be accomplished through the commercialization of the fluoride-salt-cooled, high-temperature reactor (FHR) that can be deployed with robust safety, affordable costs, and flexible operation to accommodate the expansion of variable renewables.

Job Summary

Kairos Power is seeking a with a strong technical background who leverages their diverse experience to work with teams to create and maintain their processes and procedures supporting integration of Kairos Power Fluoride Salt-Cooled High Temperature Reactor technology.

You will work in a small, highly empowered team where every team member is directly responsible for the success of the program, by ensuring teams have lean processes and procedures to support the design, manufacturing, and operations of equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

Use strong technical background to quickly develop knowledge of technology, work practices, and engineering work to develop effective and practical procedures, processes, and guidelines for teams.

You will be expected to drive and deliver results by collaborating with cross-functional workstreams to ensure effective procedures, processes, and guidelines evolve/scale with business needs.

Prepare and revise procedures, processes, and guidelines (including comment resolution) through soliciting user feedback and from leadership direction.
Leverage your technical background to help drive process improvements, standardization, and streamline processes.
Coordinate the update of design procedures, processes, and guidelines as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters in Mechanical, Nuclear, Chemical, or other related engineering or technical discipline.
Demonstrated ability of applying technical knowledge to deliver results while being able to thrive in an environment with evolving requirements
Strong interpersonal skills and able to be independent, resourceful, and proactive in the face of the lack of information or unknowns
Experience in developing and implementing both administrative and technical procedures, process design and leading process improvements.
Demonstrated ability to understand and translate complex processes into lean processes for multiple audiences.
Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Experience in personally working through aspects of detailed design, procurement activities, testing/operations, and manufacturing/construction, desired
Experience with working with design and delivery of complex and multi-disciplinary system assemblies or multisystem power or industrial plant operations, desired
Ability to work with highly collaborative team
Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently
Prioritizes and ensures safety of one self and others
Ability to proactively collect, manage and transfer knowledge
Ability to seek different and novel ways to create efficiencies when working on problems, challenges and issues

The salary range for this position is $133,900 to $157,500 for employees working onsite at our Alameda, CA headquarters. The range provided in this job posting represents the typical range or starting rate of candidates hired in California.

Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, the market data for your work location, and a comparison to other employees already in the role.
