The Senior Buyer will report directly to the Senior Manager, Supply Chain. This position is a full-time office based position located in Wilmington, MA.

Responsibilities:

  • Experience with diagnostic testing reagent manufacturing related components, such as oligos, sterile solutions, and other critical components.
  • Reviews and submits auto-generated purchase orders in ERP, and ensures existing orders are delivered on time by monitoring all open orders and contacting vendors as needed.
  • Effectively manage supplier performance to meet cost and quality objectives.
  • Partner with manufacturing team to ensure all material requirements are met.
  • Sources and carries out new vendor qualification activities.
  • Negotiates with vendors to secure the best pricing, payment, and shipping terms.
  • Experience managing/explaining PPV.
  • Support the MRO process with focus on exceptional service to internal customers.
  • Develop strong relationships with T2 Biosystems' supply chain partners to achieve defect free, on-time materials deliveries.
  • Adherence to Supply Chain SOPs and quality policy and documents.
  • Support production and R&D purchase requirements through the purchase requisitions process.
  • Negotiate pricing, implement supplier Kanban and work with suppliers to mitigate risk to supply chain.
  • Support Non-Conforming material and Supplier Corrective Action processes.
  • Maintain re-order point inventory for field service.
  • Pro-actively generate Approved Supplier re-assessments.
  • Report KPI metrics.
  • Additional duties as required.

Skills and Experience:

  • B.S. in Business or pertinent experience is preferred.
* years purchasing experience within an ISO and FDA environment.

  • Experience working within an ERP or MRP - Oracle is preferred.
  • Strong buying experience with both medical device consumables and/or reagent products for diagnostic testing.
  • Solid skillset managing both materials for internal builds and CMO activities.
  • Experience in an early commercial stage environment a plus.
  • Proven successful implementation of lean initiatives.
  • Proven track record of significant cost savings.
  • Manage conflict minerals, DOD small business liaison and Rohs compliance requirements with suppliers.
  • Demonstrated ability to create procurement processes.
  • Experience with Supplier Quality Management preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
