The Middlesex Sheriff's Office is in search of qualified applicants to fill the role of Families in Treatment Navigator, also known as FIT Navigator. This position entails providing support, case management, and re-entry services to inmates and detainees, while also involving families in educational programs and training related to the MSO Medication Assisted Treatment program. The FIT Navigator is an essential member of the treatment and program services team, contributing to the Medication Assisted Treatment and Directed Opioid Recovery program.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Identifying, enrolling, and overseeing participants in the MSO MATADOR program.
  • Coordinating appointments with community providers and providing medication education.
  • Assisting with aftercare services, including recovery and housing coordination.
  • Engaging families through outreach and education, offering support and referrals.
  • Conducting naloxone trainings and distribution for family members of inmates with opioid use disorder.
  • Evaluating and improving treatment outcomes and reducing overdose risks.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders and drug courts.
  • Collecting data and preparing reports in line with program requirements.
  • Adhering to assigned work duties and directives from program supervisors.

To thrive in the role of FIT Navigator, candidates must exhibit sound judgment, attention to detail, and understand the sensitive and confidential nature of working in a law enforcement environment. The position demands interaction with individuals under stress, the possibility of facing verbal and physical abuse, and the ability to handle physical tasks in varying conditions.

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree.
  • Five years of experience working with inmates or detainees and three years in social services, case management, or substance abuse services.
  • Experience in aiding individuals with mental health challenges.
  • Knowledge of services and benefits available to incarcerated individuals.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access is advantageous.

Salary: The annual base salary for this role is $58,658.24, plus additional benefits.
