Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAvailable Shifts:
  • 3rd Shift - 10:00PM to 6:00AM - $20.25/hr
  • Must be able to work 12 hour shifts frequently
Baler Job Duties:
  • Feed various grades of cardboard and paper onto the Baler conveyor consistently and effectively to maximize the value of the products sorted.
  • Keep sorted material supplied to the baler and enable continued processing operation.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly unfinished inventory area by properly stacking empty gaylords and picking up debris off the floor.
  • Maximize the Baled Value of the materials and minimize the labor costs of the baling operation by planning and staging the material.
  • Responsible for all activities associated with safely running the baler including operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations
  • Make good, neat bales
  • Operate Shredder and shred all unusable paper and corrugated scrap
  • Assist in two-man feeds as necessary
  • Maintain accurate bale reports
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping
  • Responsible for picking up scrap outside the building
Required Skills:
  • Experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously
  • Ability to work within a team, effectively communicating with members
  • Ability to recognize numbers and number sequences
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime on short notice, both during the week and weekends
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment, with varying temperatures based on season, around machinery, and heavy forklift traffic
  • Must be able to read a tape measure
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb and balance
  • Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Possess ability to regularly lift/move up to 40 pounds and frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to frequently step up and down from platform, and bend at the waist
