Job Title: Licensed Optician at Optical Clinic

Responsibilities:

  • Candidates will spend their day assisting patients on the optical floor.
  • Assist patients with glasses selection, order pick-ups, and adjusting contact lenses.
  • Evaluate prescriptions, price insurance, and offer support to patients.
  • See 20-30 patients daily and document patient records.
  • Display a professional attitude, greet patients, and interpret optical prescriptions.
  • Operate lensometers, assist with contact lens training, and order eyeglasses from vendors.
  • Verify billing information, collect payments, and post payments.
  • Check eyeglass and contact lens orders, answer phones, and notify patients of product readiness.
  • Attend mandatory trainings and education meetings.

Performance Measurements:

  • Order Entry (errors)
  • Order Protocol (following protocol)
  • Patient Satisfaction

Qualifications:

  • 1 year experience as a licensed optician required
  • Licensure by North Carolina State Board of Opticians
  • Knowledge of prisms and PEDs preferred
  • Private practice experience highly preferred

Hours:

Monday-Friday from 8:00a-5:00p, no weekends. Floating to a different clinic may be required occasionally.


Pay Rate:

$ /hour based on experience and qualifications.
