Delivery Driver Position at Mitchell Lewis & Staver

Mitchell Lewis & Staver is in search of a dependable Delivery Driver to join our team. As a Delivery Driver, your main responsibility will be to ensure the timely and safe delivery of our products and packages to our customers. Embracing a crucial role in our mission to offer cutting-edge and eco-friendly water solutions to our clients.

In this role, you will handle daily deliveries to customer sites and provide warehouse assistance to the specific branch. This position will report directly to the Branch Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Representing Mitchell Lewis & Staver in a courteous and professional manner when interacting with customers
  • Successfully meeting delivery schedules on assigned routes
  • Efficiently loading and unloading products from delivery vehicles
  • Maintaining fleet vehicles in accordance with maintenance schedules, including oil changes, cleaning, and general upkeep
  • Supporting Warehouse Operations as instructed by the Branch Manager
  • Keeping an accurate delivery log
  • Adhering to driving regulations of the location
  • Sustaining a clean and safe driving record
  • Completing other duties as directed by the supervisor

Requirements

  • 2 to 3 years of experience driving a commercial flatbed truck is preferred
  • Proficiency in operating a forklift

  • Detail oriented: Identifying defects and ensuring adherence to specifications
  • Communication: Capable of expressing thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively in written and verbal forms to both internal and external customers
  • Initiative: Taking ownership of tasks proactively
  • Organization: Maintaining a tidy work area, reporting any defective equipment or material to the supervisor
  • Analysis & problem-solving: Ability to independently work with minimal direction

Education Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of prior commercial driving experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for the majority of the shift
  • Capability to handle products or materials weighing up to 50 pounds, involving lifting, placing, pushing, and pulling
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record

Work Environment:

  • Operating a delivery truck, involving loading and unloading outdoors, and indoor work such as customer interaction, deliveries, and product handling
  • Exposure to variable temperatures when working outdoors
