They are known for their expertise in roadways and bridges, delivering projects with excellence and a commitment to safety. They are seeking a skilled Project Manager with specific experience in DOT and Roadway work.

Job Description: They are looking for an experienced Heavy Civil Construction Project Manager to oversee and manage roadway and bridge projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with DOT projects, exceptional leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of construction management principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all activities associated with roadway and bridge construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Ensure projects adhere to MDOT standards and specifications.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and work plans.
  • Manage and supervise project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure work is performed in compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and government agencies, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns.
  • Prepare and submit project reports, documentation, and necessary approvals.
  • Manage project risks, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Ensure efficient use of resources and maintain effective cost control measures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery and performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on roadways and bridges.
  • Proven experience managing MDOT projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of MDOT standards, specifications, and regulations.
  • Strong project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
  • Ability to read and

interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
  • Experience with design-build projects.
  • Familiarity with sustainable construction practices.
