Job Description

The selected individual will be responsible for implementing and maintaining various business procedures in alignment with the Bank's Risk Governance Framework (RGF) and OCC's Heightened Standards. The main focus will involve overseeing the Quality Control Unit to meet its objectives as defined in the RGF. This includes participating in the identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of risk issues along with Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), contributing to business process evaluations and enhancements, and assisting in the evaluation and coordination of new product assessments, among other responsibilities. Additionally, the role will involve leading post-lending loan management, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and deadlines, and providing training and guidance to team members to ensure high-quality work standards are maintained.

Job Duties

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Reporting & Loan Support
    • Collaborate with Account Officers to oversee a diverse portfolio of commercial loans.
    • Ensure prompt completion of post-lending management activities like periodic reviews, covenant compliance monitoring, and coordinating with other departments for effective management of the Expired Documents Log.
    • Review reports and documentation completed by Account Officers, and provide feedback to ensure quality assurance.
    • Regularly update post-lending management policies and procedures to align them with the Bank's Risk Appetite Statement, and establish industry-specific best practices.
    • Conduct self-risk assessments on a quarterly basis for the department, escalating any identified risks as needed.
  • Risk & Compliance Management
    • Play a pivotal role within the Quality Control Unit by aiding in the identification, assessment, and monitoring of risk issues and KRIs, as well as participating in business process reviews and new product assessments.
    • Analyze data related to the corporate loan portfolio to track Key Risk Indicator (KRI) thresholds and report any breaches.
    • Contribute to enhancing business procedures and risk management practices continuously.
    • Collaborate with various teams to update the Risk Assessment covering different risk categories on a periodic basis.
  • Business Development Support
    • Facilitate communication between the Corporate Banking Department and auditors, ensuring timely resolution of audit concerns.
    • Generate reports for assigned projects and inquiries from management.
    • Provide training and mentorship to junior staff, sharing insights on risk policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related fields required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in banking or finance, with expertise in credit portfolio management across various industries like energy, technology, material, aviation, and real estate.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analytics, particularly in fundamental credit analysis.
  • Knowledge of lending operations, bank deposit procedures, legal compliance, and risk metrics for retail and commercial banking.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish good relationships with internal stakeholders, legal advisors, regulatory bodies, and examiners.
  • Capacity and willingness to enhance the technical skills of staff members, including new hires.
