Description

The Law, Safety & Justice (LSJ) IT Department is seeking a team-oriented IT Analyst III. Members of this team work together to ensure mission critical service delivery to the Sheriff's Office and other LSJ partners. This position will lead in-person IT operations work (on-site at duty post 80% of the week), training, and support for hardware deployment, recovery, problem-solving, and software upgrades/implementation. The IT Analyst III will be the lead expert on Axon Ecosystem products and collaborate with the Sheriff's Office Data & Technology Unit. Additionally, they'll work closely with the internal LSJ IT Development Team, handle documentation, and serve as a liaison for other LSJ IT Departments' helpdesk and operational needs.

Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be performed at various Law, Safety & Justice buildings throughout Hennepin County. The duty post for this position will be at the 701 Building at 701 4th Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN Work hours will be Monday through Friday, any time between the hours of 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. with some on-call rotation duties outside of normal business hours. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.

Employees may be eligible to receive an additional cash merit of up to $2,246.99 that can be earned annually based on performance.

In this position, you will: Establish working relationships with IT staff and business partners to ensure quality partnerships to deliver IT solutions. Communicate decisions, priorities, and relevant project and solution information to appropriate levels of staff regarding business unit/department requests, projects, and initiatives based on predefined criteria. Communicate with technical and non-technical partners on service requests and other enterprise solutions. Develop, implement, and interpret information technology policies, procedures and practices related to information systems. Support adoption of new tools and processes as they are implemented. Coordinate and participate in auditing of new solutions, processes, and other solutions to ensure compliance and implement continuous improvement processes. Develop and document technical specifications that support development, testing and deployment of new technologies and applications. Respond and assist in delivery of solutions for business partners and users requests for hardware/software and other enterprise solution assistance needs. Provide after hours on-call support for high priority LS&J systems/applications. Provide on-site support/IT operations coverage at remote LS&J IT operations work sites. Provide technical assistance, mentoring, work direction of other LS&J IT staff. Need to have: One of the following:Six years or more of IT experience.Associate's/vocational/technical degree in computer science, management information systems (MIS), information technology, or an approved information technology field related to the position and four years or more of IT experience.Completion of an approved IT Hennepin County internship or completion of five college/vocational/technical information technology courses and four years or more of IT experience.Bachelor's degree or higher in an information technology field and two years or more of IT experience. Knowledge and support experience with the Microsoft ecosystem (e.g., Windows 10, Office365. Outlook, Teams). Knowledge and support experience with the Axon Ecosystem of products. Experience:Providing technical support, maintenance, or updates on Hennepin County Sheriff's Office systems.Working on a collaborative team.Working with Netmotion Mobility VPN software.Managing end users' technical needs.Working with 24/7 on-call software applications. Ability to:Effectively communicate with end users who possess a wide variety of technical knowledge.Write technical documentation for IT staff and end users. Knowledge of FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) policy.
