The state-supported living centers cater to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, particularly those who are medically fragile or have behavioral challenges. These centers provide direct services and support across 13 locations throughout the state.

The Program Supervisor V - Director of Education and Training assumes administrative and supervisory responsibilities, overseeing all vocational programs and active treatment services for individuals residing at the Supported Living Center (SSLC).

  • Organizes, plans, and coordinates functions related to active treatment, vocational, recreational, and community inclusion programs to set and achieve goals.
  • Develops, implements, and supervises policies and procedures to ensure program quality and compliance with regulations.
  • Establishes program goals and utilizes data for performance measurement and improvement.
  • Maintains a trained and supported workforce, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Coordinates quality assurance activities and compliance with standards.
  • Participates in state reviews and liaises with external entities for vocational program implementation.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Attends work regularly and may work varying schedules as required, including on-call duties.
  • Develops, implements, and supervises policies and procedures to ensure high-quality education and training programs.
  • Plans and coordinates resource usage for program effectiveness.
  • Establishes goals and objectives for the department, approves schedules, and reviews program proposals.
  • Maintains a well-trained workforce and conducts staff hiring, performance monitoring, and training compliance.
  • Oversees data systems, performance assessments, and departmental performance reporting.
  • Implements a performance improvement system and quality assurance activities.
  • Partners with external entities for vocational services and maintains good public relations.
  • Participates in state reviews, corrective action implementation, and program coordination activities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Understanding of client protections and relevant regulations.
  • Knowledge of long-term services, supports programs, and active treatment.
  • Skills in program development and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in computer applications like Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel.
  • Effective time management, task prioritization, and supervision skills.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and delegation abilities.
  • Capacity to assess needs, prepare budgets, and handle critical incidents with good judgment.
