Clarification from the agency
  • - Operates the main units, station service boards, pumping plant, and water conveyance equipment to meet electrical load and water schedules.
  • - Prepares switching orders and performs configurations for equipment maintenance or repair.
  • - Provides technical support to various crafts, engineers, power plant operators, etc.
  • - Responds promptly and professionally to information requests.
  • - Conducts on-the-spot evaluations of system and equipment conditions for proper restoration.
  • - Evaluates operating interruptions and diagnoses causes.
  • - Performs facility inspections to ensure equipment operates correctly.
RequirementsConditions of Employment
  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • You must pass a background investigation for federal employment.
  • You need to submit a resume and supporting documentation.
  • You must provide eligibility documents for veterans' consideration.
  • Must meet minimum education and/or experience requirements.
  • Must maintain a valid State Driver's License throughout employment.
  • A successful pre-employment physical examination is required.
  • Ability to safely perform physical requirements of the position.
  • Ability to work alone and with others around energized sources.
  • Shift work including swing, graveyard, holidays, and weekends.
  • Considered Emergency Essential Personnel.
  • Overtime may be necessary.
Qualifications

Minimum qualifications for trades and labor positions are based on job element evaluation. Meet screen-out element criteria and have an average of at least 2 points on all job elements to be considered.

Experience includes paid and unpaid work such as volunteer programs (Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) that enhance competencies and skills relevant to this role.

Must meet all requirements, including selective placement factors by 08/27/2024.
