Join Our Team as a Recreation Assistant at The Arc of Ocean County

The Arc of Ocean County is searching for a dedicated Recreation Assistant to join our Family Support Department. In this role, you will be responsible for creating safe, engaging, and meaningful opportunities for Individuals with disabilities in Ocean County.

As a Full-Time Recreation Assistant, you will work closely with individuals with disabilities in a social environment. Your main goal will be to help participants improve their socialization skills, integrate into the community, and take part in recreational activities both on-site and in the community.

The ideal candidate will accompany groups on outings, social events such as dances and fitness clubs, and provide support during various activities. You will also be responsible for assisting with transportation using agency vehicles and ensuring the smooth running of all activities. It is essential to actively engage participants and demonstrate good social behavior as a role model within the programs.

Schedule: Tues - Fri 1p-9p, Sat 9a-5p

Compensation: Competitive Hourly Rate, Bi-Weekly Pay Schedule

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Valid NJ Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Minimum one year of work experience with individuals with disabilities
  • High School Diploma or GED
