JOB TITLE: CI Quality Leader at HJI Supply Chain Solutions



The CI Quality Leader plays a crucial role in ensuring the short- and long-term success of HJI Supply Chain Solutions by leading best practice programs. Through the application of Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies, this position spearheads impactful product/process enhancements, delivering significant value across all HJI locations. With a strong emphasis on continuous improvement and quality, the CI Quality Leader demonstrates exemplary leadership skills in training and developing teams, fostering a culture that strongly supports improvement and quality initiatives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct internal Continuous Improvement activities (LEAN, Six-Sigma, ISO 9001, etc.).
  • Create and deliver customer PPAP for all parts manufactured within the company.
  • Analyze current work processes to optimize flow, time requirements, costs, and durations.
  • Enhance worker efficiency and minimize waste through Lean and continuous improvement tools, such as value stream mapping.
  • Ensure operations meet quality standards through audits and observations; oversee the use of SPC Tools as necessary.
  • Support Quality and CI themed audits at each site, working towards ISO 9001 certification.
  • Produce reports based on audits and observations to promote continuous improvements.
  • Provide training to site leadership and operational staff on manufacturing practices and quality assessment.
  • Monitor products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure accuracy.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of final products to meet industry and company standards.
  • Assist the Inventory team in identifying non-conforming parts and addressing defective product issues.
  • Implement cost control and reduction initiatives while advocating for daily operational best practices.
  • Hold progress reviews with Ops Leadership Groups and Corporate Teams as needed.
  • Support programs that acknowledge and incentivize process improvement suggestions and efforts.
  • Collaborate on HJI safety initiatives across all facilities to drive continuous improvement.
  • Aid the Ops Team in launching continuous improvement and lean projects.
  • Strengthen the company's reputation and relationships with key customers through effective quality control.
  • Update and manage all internal/external audit findings.
  • Undertake any other assigned duties.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or management preferred.
  • Prior experience or training in Lean methodologies is advantageous.
  • Preferred certifications in Lean Management Principles and/or Six Sigma Belt.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to interpret documents and effectively communicate with individuals at all levels within the organization.

COMPUTER RELATED SKILLS

Proficiency in Microsoft applications, Outlook, and comfort with Technology including managing and troubleshooting WMS systems is essential.

REASONING ABILITY

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify standardization gaps and develop strategic processes for success. High attention to detail and the capability to interpret various instructions provided.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

The candidate must be capable of meeting the physical demands of the role, such as standing, walking, sitting, lifting, bending, and reaching. The work environment may involve spending time in a non-climate controlled warehouse.
