As a Forensic Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to individuals who are victims of sexual assault. Additionally, you will conduct forensic examinations and may offer expert testimony when necessary for legal matters.

Requirements:

  • Possession of Basic Life Skills (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) plus a minimum of 2 years of nursing practice
  • Preferably hold a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner's Certificate
  • Active nursing license issued by the Texas State Board of Nursing or under the compact state

Key Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of nursing standards and practices in alignment with nursing scope and standards of practice
  • Familiarity with forensic practices as outlined by the International Association of Forensic Nurses
    • Strong interest in scientific and technical aspects to address nursing challenges effectively
    • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Outstanding attention to detail, organizational abilities, and adept problem-solving skills
    • Capacity to exercise independent judgment when needed

    This role will involve collaboration with various hospital departments, team members, patients, and their families. Furthermore, there may be requirements to attend court proceedings and offsite meetings.
