Forklift Operator/ Pipe Yard

Overview:
PACE Supply Distribution Center in Stockton, CA is hiring forklift operators for our pipe yard on Day shift 9:00am

  • 5:30pm Monday
  • Friday, must be available to work daily overtime. Duties will include moving large pipe, picking, and put away.
Our forklift operators are responsible for but not limited to; pick, receive and put away product. This position will require to operate equipment and utilize RF scanner to scan items. Must be able to meet company productivity standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Looks up part numbers, quantities, product locations, and customer information on the computer, as appropriate.
  • Refills shelves and racks from overstock, as needed.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a cooperative manner with customers, coworkers and managers.
  • Receives orders through supervisor from prepared and prioritized work tags.
  • Pulls orders from inventory, manually and/or utilizing forklift.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the overall facility to support safety standards, with an emphasis on the area assigned to the workgroup.
  • Operate equipment such as order picker, stand up and/or reach lift, Combi lift.
  • Utilize an RF scanner for daily tasks

Qualifications:


Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance of the job would qualify.


  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent education required. Two or Four-Year college degree in logistics, supply chain management or business administration is preferred.
  • Warehouse, plumbing, retail/customer service and forklift experience is also desirable, but not required.
  • Knowledge of warehouse software packages and MS Office proficiency.
  • Ability to input, retrieve and analyze data.
  • Handson commitment to getting the job done.
  • Ability to recognize and read location, date, and product codes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge and proper use of the English language, including reading, writing, and oral communications.
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Flexibility to operate and selfdriven to excel in a fastpaced environment.
  • Capable of multitasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow up practices.

Physical Requirements:

  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally, the employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to lift items that weigh up to 50 lbs. regularly. This includes carrying, dragging, and walking with materials, as well as using a handtruck.
  • Prolonged periods of standing or sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Environmental Conditions:

  • The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
  • Occasionally, the employee may be exposed to high, precarious places and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
