Join our client as a Data Deployment Technician where you'll play a pivotal role in installing, terminating, and testing data cabling infrastructure across diverse projects. Under the guidance of senior technicians or project managers, you'll ensure the quality and reliability of our installations while assisting in deploying Audio-Visual and security camera solutions. This is a contract position (6 months for a project in Worcester)

Your responsibilities will include
Installation
  • Assist in installing data cabling systems as per industry standards, encompassing copper cables, fiber optics cables, cable trays, racks, and patch panels.
  • Support the installation of projectors, LCD panels, and digital messaging boards.
  • Aid in deploying, installing, and configuring security cameras.
Termination
  • Perform cable terminations like punch-downs, crimping, and splicing to connect to patch panels, outlets, and equipment.
  • Ensure accurate and tidy terminations to maintain signal integrity.
Testing
  • Conduct cable testing and certification using appropriate equipment to verify compliance with performance standards and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  • Test to ensure functionality of camera and audio/video components post-deployment.
Cable Management
  • Organize and manage cable pathways including cable trays, conduits, and raceways to ensure orderly installations.
  • Label cables and document cable routes for future reference and maintenance.
Safety
  • Adhere to safety protocols and best practices ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures when working with power tools and at heights.
Collaboration
  • Work collaboratively with team members, including senior technicians, project managers, and subcontractors to meet project deadlines and budgets.
  • Communicate effectively to coordinate tasks and resolve issues promptly.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the telecommunications or construction industry.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling standards, AV, or security camera equipment is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with cabling materials, tools, and equipment such as copper and fiber optic cables, patch panels, jacks, and cable testers..
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols including Ethernet, IP addressing, and VLANs.
  • Strong attention to detail and precise cable termination skills.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to work in various conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
