Job DescriptionDescription

Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, implementing, planning, and evaluating nursing care for patients based on established philosophy, while also providing supervision for entry level nurses.

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills (CSRH-WH) is a 150-bed hospital in San Antonio offering specialized services such as orthopedic care, surgical services, ICU, women's services, cardiovascular care, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Meets expectations of OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Provides nursing care following the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.
  • Administers medications and treatments, monitors side-effects and effectiveness.
  • Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
  • Assesses learning needs, educates patients and caregivers, and identifies resources.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • One year nursing experience preferred.
  • Current Texas State RN License or Compact RN License
  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS certification required for experienced RNs.
  • PALS certification required for experienced RNs.
  • Crisis intervention training required within 12 months.
  • TNCC required for trauma designated facilities.
