The UVA Department of Anesthesiology follows the innovative 'Anesthesia Team care model', which involves collaboration among anesthesiologists, CRNAs, residents, SRNAs, and anesthesia technologists. CRNAs play a vital role in administering general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care across various settings, such as the Main OR, outpatient surgical services, obstetrics, pediatrics, and off sites. In addition, the upcoming Ivy Mountain Orthopedic Outpatient care facility will provide new opportunities for CRNAs to incorporate regional anesthesia techniques.

Job Details:

  • Participates in pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation.
  • Formulates a patient-specific plan for anesthesia care in collaboration with attending anesthesiologist.
  • Implements monitors and adjusts patient's physiologic condition as appropriate for type of anesthesia and specific patient's needs.
  • Transfers the responsibility for care of the patient to other qualified providers post-operatively to assure continuity of care and patient safety.
  • Supports operating room procedures.
  • Assumes responsibility for professional development of self and contributes to and assists with the professional development of others.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Benefits Package:

  • Vacation: 26 days of PTO/vacation with 1 week for professional development.
  • Offers range from $210K to $250K based on experience.
  • Sign-on incentive available for qualified candidates. Relocation assistance provided as per UVA Medical Center policy.

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited nursing program or eligibility to practice as a CRNA in the Commonwealth of Virginia. No experience required.

Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in the Commonwealth of Virginia, American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

Physical Demands:

Job involves sitting for prolonged periods, frequent bending/stooping, and lifting. Must have strong communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Ability to handle physical demands and may be exposed to certain environmental factors.
