About the Job:
  • Supervises day-to-day activities of operators to ensure compliance with operational requirements for safe bus operations.
  • Provides support, advice, and guidance to operators in handling various situations such as customer complaints, safety concerns, and time-off requests.
  • Creates a positive work environment by offering coaching, mentoring, and training to boost employee motivation and commitment to company values.
  • Monitors on-time performance and prepares necessary reports promptly.
Responsibilities:
  • Supervises day-to-day activities of operators to ensure compliance with operational requirements for safe bus operations, including corporate safety training processes.
  • Provides support and guidance to operators in responding to different issues, assessing situations, and determining appropriate courses of action to prevent reoccurrence in the future.
  • Ensures a positive work environment for operators by offering coaching, mentoring, and training to boost employee morale and commitment to company values.
  • Monitors on-time performance and prepares and submits required reports promptly.
  • Supervises compliance with company policies by addressing any breaches with the General Manager.
  • Evaluates personnel performance regularly and administers appropriate discipline when necessary.
  • Directs daily assignments and schedules drivers to ensure complete coverage of all routes.
  • Communicates driving assignments clearly and assists drivers as needed.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent; some college education preferred.
  • Commercial Driver's License (Class A or B), Airbrakes, and Passenger Endorsement required.
  • 5 years of work experience, with 3 years in the transit industry preferred; educational background can be substituted for required work experience.
  • Proven supervisory knowledge and expertise.
  • Computer literacy in word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to handle conflicting demands related to customer care and routing.
  • Knowledge of the surrounding geographic area.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving and independent work skills.
