Job Title: Group Fitness Instructor

Welcome to join our team at the Y, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. As a Group Fitness Instructor, you will lead dynamic classes in a supportive environment for individuals of all abilities and fitness levels. Your role involves promoting a sense of belonging and modifying classes to cater to diverse health and cultural needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead engaging and educational group fitness classes to support the YMCA mission
  • Assist participants in achieving their health and wellness goals
  • Stay updated on wellness trends to provide relevant information to members
  • Build strong relationships with members and facilitate connections within the community
  • Modify approaches to accommodate various participant needs and backgrounds
  • Celebrate milestones and successes of program participants
  • Maintain accurate attendance records
  • Adhere to YMCA policies and procedures, including emergency response protocols
  • Collaborate with volunteers and support fundraising efforts

Qualifications:

  • Must hold certifications in CPR, First Aid, AED, and national fitness instruction
  • Specialized certification in relevant areas
  • Obtain YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within 60 days of employment
  • Prior experience teaching group wellness classes preferred

Skills and Requirements:

  • Ability to lead fitness classes and activities effectively
  • Demonstrated physical capability to lead classes and perform related tasks
