The

Senior Chemist Scientist III

is responsible for leading the pesticide detection and analysis department, developing and monitoring scientific projects, troubleshooting and maintaining instrumentation, and overseeing junior scientists and lab technicians.

This role requires a background in laboratory methods, particularly in mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS), and a passion for pioneering new techniques.

Responsibilities:
Develop and validate analytical methods for pesticide detection and other assays.
Troubleshoot, maintain, and run LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS instruments.
Ensure proper calibration and performance of laboratory instruments.
Lead and monitor scientific projects from inception to completion.
Write and review scientific reports.
Supervise and mentor junior scientists and lab technicians.
Perform sample preparation, homogenization, and batching.
Conduct routine analysis and data interpretation.
Maintain accurate and detailed technical records.
Adhere to ISO/IEC 17025 and Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) regulations.
Ensure all quality assurance and quality control processes are implemented and followed.

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in chemistry, biology, agriculture, environmental science, or related field (Masters is a plus).
Minimum of 4 years of relevant full-time laboratory experience (2 years with a Masters degree).
Demonstrated supervisory experience of at least 1 year.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Proficiency in LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS instrumentation.
Experience in method development and validation.
Knowledge of pesticide detection, mass spectrometry, and general laboratory practices.

Compensation and Perks:
$ 30-40 per hour depending on

knowledge, skills, experience, and credentials.
