Job Summary:

As a Behavioral Health Clinical Evaluator (PASRR) specializing in Preadmission Screening and Resident Review, your main responsibility will be to conduct face-to-face assessments to ensure appropriate placement and care in the Redding, California area. Your role will involve conducting crucial evaluations to enhance patient well-being and elevate their quality of life. These assessments, mainly carried out in nursing homes, hospitals, or community settings, play a vital role in determining the necessary level and extent of care for each patient.

As a trusted expert, you will assess, decide, and recommend the most suitable level of care to enhance overall quality of life. This position is a hybrid one (PRN), combining remote work from your home office with local travel to assess patients, including those in the Redding area. All travel expenses, mileage, and parking costs will be fully covered.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform precise screenings, evaluations, and determinations.
  • Create well-informed care level recommendations based on comprehensive clinical evaluations.
  • Conduct assessments in various settings, including nursing homes, hospitals, and communities, to address the diverse needs of the individuals we serve.
  • Follow the state's top standards of mental health practices, intellectual and developmental disabilities, geriatrics, and other conditions requiring nursing care services and support.
  • Ensure adherence to contractual and regulatory standards while developing care level recommendations.
  • Leverage independent judgment, vast clinical expertise, outstanding communication skills, and problem-solving abilities to navigate complex situations and guarantee optimal outcomes for members, providers, and clients.
  • Foster productive collaboration with a wide range of healthcare professionals, patients, families, and support networks while monitoring personal metrics to ensure compliance with turnaround time requirements.
  • Utilize technology by using the state's electronic system and our custom platforms to effectively manage and track all assessment activities.
  • Maintain compliance with essential workflows to uphold quality and efficiency standards.
  • Prioritize and execute tasks efficiently with meticulous attention to detail.

This list of responsibilities may expand to cover additional duties as deemed necessary by management.

Required Qualifications/Experience:

  • Hold an active unrestricted licensure in California in a healthcare or related field. Eligible licenses may include (LCSW), (LMFT), (LPCC), (Nurse Practitioner), or (Psychologist).
  • Have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in diagnosing and assessing individuals with mental/psychiatric disorders, including managing complex differential diagnoses concerning substance use, medical conditions, cognitive issues, and dementia.
  • Possess at least two years of direct experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or related conditions.
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in computer applications like Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with geriatric populations is highly valued.
  • Have expertise in determining a clinical diagnosis while considering psychological and behavioral issues.
  • Understanding of practice standards related to determining Level of Care and those connected to mental health, geriatrics, and other conditions frequently requiring long-term care placement.
  • Background in public mental health and medical programs, as well as services and support in the public sector.
  • Possess excellent communication skills to convey information effectively through spoken, written, and electronic means to individuals and groups.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to efficiently prioritize and perform tasks in a timely manner.

For this role, the compensation ranges from $40.00 to $42.00 per hour. Placement within this range will depend on various factors, such as relevant experience and skill level, under our compensation plan.
