Position Description:
The Barista creates a memorable customer experience by providing fast, friendly service and consistent, quality products.
This role is responsible for performing all job duties in a manner consistent with current company processes and procedures and maintaining all food safety and sanitation standards.
Essential Duties:
Welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions, and accepting orders and paymentsWelcome questions and seek opportunities to educate on our productsPreparing specialty coffee drinks of the very highest quality, as well as teas and other beveragesMaintain coffee knowledge on current offerings and clearly communicate product information to customersManage cash drawer, following established cash handling proceduresServe all customer orders according to recipe and aesthetic guidelinesDeliver products within established speed of service guidelines and identify drink upon deliveryOperate and maintain cleanliness of all store equipmentOptimize workflow efficiency by restocking workstations, food, supplies, and merchandiseMaintain cleanliness of coworker and customer areasDemonstrate genuine appreciation to each customer and to your fellow team membersThe functions and skills described here are general in nature and represent the type of work performed, but they do not constitute an exhaustive list of the duties and responsibilities performed on the job
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalentExperience in food and beverage preparation or customer service preferredExtensive training and willingness to pursue excellence in learning about drink preparation and food offeringsFood Handlers Certification or willingness to obtain a Food Handlers Certification

Working Conditions:
Work indoors most of the time, but may occasionally work in outdoor setting. Often wear a special uniform or dress according to dress code. Work very nery coworkers and customers. May exposed to hot temperatures. May kneel or stoop to reach ingredients or equipment.
Barista Physical Requirements:
Stand for long periods of time.
Repeat the same movements. Use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Understand the speech of another person including coworkers, customers, and vendors.
Speak clearly so listeners can understand.
See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
