Construction Manager - Mechanical Engineer (CM-ME) Position at ISI Professional Services

At ISI Professional Services, we are looking for a skilled Construction Manager - Mechanical Engineer (CM-ME) who can bring expertise in both construction management and mechanical engineering to our team.

The ideal candidate for this role will have experience in reviewing design and construction plans in comparison to existing site conditions.

Additionally, they should be adept at addressing unforeseen site and design challenges and proposing cost-effective technical solutions. Experience in conducting inspections and assessments of structures to identify deficiencies and determine overall physical conditions is also crucial for this position.


Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:


- Provide planning, design, and construction support for facility restoration, renovations, and recovery operations.

- Assist Project Managers in monitoring project progress and identifying potential issues.

- Develop recommendations and strategies to tackle challenges using current design and construction methodologies.

- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to address complex project issues.

- Apply construction management knowledge to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Support Senior Resident Engineers in monitoring and inspecting construction for contract compliance.

- Compile reports with accurate data and offer expertise on project risk mitigation.

- Facilitate team communication by drafting and distributing project updates.

- Liaise with project stakeholders regarding requirements, timelines, and administrative reporting.


Other Essential Qualifications:


- Knowledge of various aspects of commercial hospital mechanical construction.

- Ability to estimate costs and evaluate compliance of workmanship, materials, and equipment.

- Understanding of building, safety, and environmental codes.

- Proficiency in mechanical design and installation for specialized medical and laboratory equipment.

- Familiarity with governmental contracting procedures and principles.

- Preferably, experience working in the state of New York and in commercial healthcare settings, particularly supporting the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.


Required Education and Certifications:
The CM-ME should hold a degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited institution and have at least 5 years of experience in practicing Mechanical engineering and inspecting construction.

A certificate of completion of the OSHA 10-Hour Safety Training Class is also required.
