About the Team

Compensation is CHOP's single biggest expense and a primary driver of whether employees join or feel valued by an organization.

The Compensation team consults with business leaders to ensure this massive investment in the people who come to work at CHOP is allocated equitably and sustainably, and that the programs we develop meet the needs of our ever-changing business and workforce.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, Compensation, the Compensation Analyst I provides the opportunity for an individual who is both analytical and collaborative to be a part of measuring, improving, and building CHOP's Compensation programs and processes.

This role will partner with a group of Compensation Consultants to learn the discipline and provide both analytical and technology administration support.


What you will do

  • Business Consultation:
  • Provides data analysis, market competitive assessments and cost estimates as coached by Compensation Consultants
  • Participates in assessing appropriate pay grades for new jobs / revised jobs; implements agreed upon changes in relevant systems
  • Assists with preparing materials, scheduling, and coordinating followup for consultative sessions with business leaders with guidance from the Compensation Consultants
  • Researches and directly responds to managers' routine payrelated questions; partners with team members to answer more complex questions
  • Technology Administration:
  • Actively approves and audits compensation transactions and pay rates to ensure they are aligned with policy and paid out correctly; uses problemsolving to resolve routine issues, collaborating on complex issues
  • Serves as a point person for implementing mass pay changes in Workday
  • Supports CHOP's participation in annual and ad hoc compensation surveys
  • Project & Operations Support:
  • Supports annual pay range updates and merit and bonus planning & administration
  • Assists with maintaining and updating various communication and educational resources
  • Assists with regular compensation audit activities
  • May participate in a variety of Compensation projects and initiatives
  • Proactively highlights process and program improvement opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Human Resources, Finance, or similar field of study.
  • Preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • At least six (6) months work experience in Compensation, Human Resources, Finance, or related field
  • Required
  • At least one (1) year healthcare industry experience preferred
  • Preferred
  • At least one (1) year Prior experience working with HRIS systems or Kronos
  • Preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel to include pivot tables, vlookup and advanced formulas (Preferred proficiency)
  • Mathematical and data analysis skills (Preferred proficiency)

  • Technology aptitude and learning ability (Preferred proficiency)
