Job Opportunity: Part-time Lecturer in Biology at San Diego State University

The Department of Biology in the College of Sciences at San Diego State University is looking for temporary faculty to join their part-time lecturer pool. If you have expertise in any of the following areas, we want to hear from you:

  • Human Anatomy
  • Ecology
  • Evolutionary Biology
  • General Biology
  • Microbiology
  • Cell Biology
  • Molecular Biology/Genetics
  • Physiology
  • Hematology

We offer temporary appointments that can be full- or part-time. Positions from the part-time pool are often filled just before the academic term starts, so flexibility is key. The academic terms run from mid-August to late-December (Fall) and mid-January to mid-May (Spring) with possible opportunities in Summer Sessions. Initial appointments are typically one semester or one academic year, subject to evaluations and work availability.

Criteria:

  • Graduate degree related to the subjects listed
  • Teaching experience at the university level is advantageous
  • Demonstrated expertise in the subject matter

Salary and rank for lecturer faculty are commensurate with experience and qualifications. Most candidates start at the Lecturer A or B rank at the beginning of the salary range.
