What You'll Do:

As a Sports Official, you'll work alongside the Regional Sports Director to offer top-notch service to members and participants by overseeing designated games. You'll be responsible for managing various aspects of the games, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all involved while upholding the YMCA's values.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Punctually arrive in appropriate attire with necessary equipment
  2. Set up and dismantle gym equipment efficiently
  3. Ensure games start and end on time
  4. Prioritize safety for all involved
  5. Enforce game rules and YMCA sports policies
  6. Establish positive relationships with players, coaches, and parents
  7. Provide clear and constructive feedback
  8. Supervise activities at game sites
  9. Respond to injuries and conflicts professionally
  10. Collect feedback for program improvement
  11. Maintain cleanliness and safety in designated areas
  12. Stay positive and encouraging towards all participants
  13. Promote the YMCA's mission and values
  14. Participate in fundraising efforts
  15. Attend meetings as required
  16. Aid in increasing participation and retention
  17. Foster strong staff/volunteer relations
  18. Assist with additional tasks as needed
Qualifications:
  1. Age 18 or older
  2. 1-3 years of officiating experience
  3. Nationally Recognized Certification
  4. Experience working with children preferred
  5. Certification in CPR/First Aid/AED/O2
  6. Professional appearance and positive demeanor
  7. Excellent customer service and communication skills
  8. Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this role include:
