UT Health Pittsburg offers 25 private rooms, a 24-hour Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center, surgical suites, advanced diagnostics, a sleep lab, swing bed care, 16 physician offices, and a UT Health East Texas Olympic Center fitness facility.

Responsibilities

The Medical Laboratory Technician performs clinical testing in one or more of the followinglaboratory areas:
Chemistry; Serology; Microbiology; Hematology; and Urinalysis.

A technicianobtains or receives specimens, performs clinical laboratory tests by standardized procedures,understands method principles, performs quality control, performs preventive maintenance andinterprets results as to accuracy, acceptability and critical limits.

The technician works with theMedical Technologist and supervisor organizing work to meet established deadlines and recordsnecessary data.
Under the direction of the section or shift supervisor, responsible for one 8 hour shift, 5 days per week.
Incumbents are subject to working any shift, weekends, or holidays, and overtime as required by the director.

Qualifications


Job Requirements:
AS in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent, with approved clinical laboratory training.
Nationally recognized certification credentials or equivalent.
Comply with regulatory requirements, guidelines, and policies
