About the Job:
This position involves performing various phlebotomy, clerical duties, and basic patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. The role also entails maintaining patient care standards in alignment with established policies and practices.
Job Duties:
- Provides patient care as directed within the nursing assistant scope of practice, following the specified care plan for each patient.
- Identifies, observes, and documents patient's physical needs as per standards, promptly reporting any changes in their condition to licensed staff.
- Ensures collection and preservation of specimens as per guidelines and physician orders.
- Assists patients with daily activities and maintains care continuity.
- Conducts one-to-one patient safety monitoring as assigned.
- Processes specimens accurately and ensures timely transportation to the lab.
- Performs point-of-care testing and instrument maintenance.
- Provides guidance to new staff and students.
- Assists in equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Handles clerical responsibilities such as admissions, transfers, and order processing.
- Coordinates patient transportation for tests and communicates relevant electronic information.
- Assists with ordering and maintaining supplies.
Position Details:
- Candidate must be currently enrolled in a college or university program.
- This is a float position: employees will be assigned to units based on needs.
- Schedule includes weekends and holidays.
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) - (Required)
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year related work experience (Preferred)
